Meet Your Coach
Alex Richardson
Alex Richardson is a former junior hockey player with a passion for growing the game. His coaching journey began at home, when he stepped in to support his wife as she picked up the sport as an adult.
That experience fuels his commitment to BLAST, where he fosters a supportive environment for beginners to find their footing. While Alex brings years of competitive experience from leagues like the VIJHL and NWJHL, his mission now is to make hockey accessible and fun for everyone.
His coaching philosophy is simple: you show up and give your best effort, whatever your skill level. In return, Alex keeps the pressure low, breaks complex drills into manageable steps, and offers clear, encouraging feedback. Whether you’re stepping onto the ice for the first time or refining your stride, he’s dedicated to helping you build lasting confidence and pride in every bit of progress you make.
